Best Cordless Waterpik Consumer Reports According to all the online consumer reports the best cordless flosser is the Waterpik, I agree with all the good things that have been written about it, the device has changed my life. As I got older I had started to suffer from very bad mouth hygiene, really bad breathe because of plaque. I had to do something about, I came across the Waterpik, read the reviews and bought one. I am so pleased that I did make that purchase, I now don't suffer from bad plaque and my bad breathe has gone. At the time of purchase I wasn't aware that I had gum disease too, I can see clearly what a difference this has made to my gum health, a lot. The Waterpik is a device, like a toothbrush, it is attached to a water reservoir and fires high pressured water at your teeth and gums. The end nozzle can be moved up or down to reach the front or back teeth easily. I always put warm water in the reservoir because my teeth are rather sensitive to the cold, it feels great on the gums and teeth. The unit is powered by a plug and is required to be charged up before first use. I like the top pressure setting the most, that's best for removing plaque. How do you use it? You fill the water reservoir, my tip is to use warm water. You can even fill it with mouthwash, perfect if you suffer from bad breathe. A full tank will run for 90 seconds or so, you only need to fire the water at your teeth and gums for around 60 to 90 seconds. Then set your speed on the unit, I recommend going for the lowest setting on your first use. Then click the on switch on the Pik itself, the water will start to flow out of the end. Have the end nozzle facing downwards to do the front of your teeth. Switch the nozzle to facing upwards to do the back of your teeth. When finished hit the off button and you are done. It's that simple to use. Do your gums bleed when brushing your teeth manually? Mine did before I started using the Waterpik, they don't now. What I don't like about it? The mess, the water runs out of my mouth a little too fast sometimes and goes down my shirt. If I forget to put a towel around my shoulders I get wet and have to change my top again. Also, the device is a little loud and does take up quite a bit of space at the side of the sink. Those are all the bad points, everyone I can live with because of the benefits. I now have great breathe, all the plaques has gone and my gums and teeth are healthier than every before.
